I had that happen to me a couple of times too. I have no clue what the deal was. But I just cleared my browser cache and it worked again.

-Honestly I thought my problem was because I changed my email, and then changed it back to the original email. So I don’t know why others are having trouble. I’ve been able to make layouts…. :(
Hopefully we can figure it out soon!

Have you guys tried using Firefox? That’s my favorite to use because I get waaay less errors in general and it loads Myspace profiles a LOOOOT faster! :)

Lost John & deadanbreathing: are you still experiencing problems? I can’t replicate it on my machine, on FireFox nor IE. If it’s still happening, it’d be great if you can post a screenshot of the error message! Thanks a lot!

Deadanbreathing, to manually install a layout, follow the directions in this link, then copy the code, go to your edit MySpace page. If you are currently using a Coolchaser layout, replace it with the code you copied, save it, check your profile, making sure you refresh first. Maybe that will work. I doubt it because it still requires you to get past the sign-in info page.

Deadanbreathing, I tried to change a layout today with several of my other layouts. The problem apparently is caused by either a bug in MySpace or in Coolchaser, because I never got past the page where you have to put your sign in info. The staff is aware of it and are trying to resolve the issue. Will do some further checking, also, do you know how to manually install a layout? There are posts in the forum, and I’ll look those up for you, too.

Hey Amy,

I looked at your page and the slide show is solid (not see-through) is that the way it’s supposed to be?
And the music player is see-through, but I don’t see a player skin. Although this may be my computer acting weird. I’ll be able to do this better once my lap top gets fixed or my MAC gets here in a few weeks.
EMAIL ME!! Miss you!

don’t worry, you’re in the right place.

you can only give your layout a name if you are uploading your own background. under the background tab, you have to click on “add your own”. then you click on browse to get the bg from your computer or if you already know the direct link, put that in. if you’re browsing, before you click on upload, you can give it a name. that name will be the name of your layout.

hope that helped.

I am very new to this and have no idea what I am doing. This is the only place I could find that seemed like it might be the place to ask my question. I thought there might be just a place on the site that said ‘type your question here,’ but I couldn’t find it. :) So, if I am doing this wrong, just tell me what I should be doing ad I’ll try to get my head in the game. Here is my question, silly as it may be: I have made a few layouts but cannot figure out how to give them a title. They all say ‘untitled’ under them, and I would like to give them a name so friends who want to use them can find them. Any help would be appreciated. And again, let me say how sorry I am if I am not using this forum correctly. Thanks.

oh yeah, i almost forgot, i removed the coolchaser tag at the top right corner of my profile cause for some reason, the bg be hind it wasn’t invisible, it was black. it was probably just a glitch and i was just testing out this layout and it kinda stuck. but i figured i’d mention it just in case it wasn’t a glitch

OK, I’ve fixed it and should be updated on our site soon :) I just had a weird rule that only applies to IE to have the position of the contact box to be center center no matter what and the layout your friend saw probably wanted it to be center bottom.

Hi Amy, you are right, on IE6 and IE7 the buttons seem to be lower. It looked fine on my Safari though. Will check it out. Thanks for the report! :)

AmyS: are you referring to the Theme Editor? I still see the Tiny/Mini profile tab on Boxes->All Boxes window.

I think it’s a photobucket glitch. I have seen that happen before. I just checked it on my comp and it looks fine so I think photobucket fixed it or something.

I noticed that when creating a theme: when I use the search photobucket tool it doesn’t have the “use media” link anymore. You have to click zoom and copy the link from there. Also when I logged in to my own photobucket there were no arrows to scroll to the next page of images in my albums. I’ve been using FF. Haven’t checked it out in IE.

Oh yeah, I think I get what you are saying. So strangely, if you see icyvoid’s profile in IE, it should look OK. The thing is IE adds borders INSIDE the box, whereas FF adds it OUTSIDE the box. So naturally, if you have a thick border, FF will overlap with the main table since it keeps adding the height and width. I’ve added the option to tweak these only for FF users because IE people don’t need it… So, people who created their themes in FF can create a layout that looks great on both FF and IE, whereas people who created their themes in IE could be surprised when they view it in FF :P The themes you’ve seen were probably all created in IE. I wish I can automatically add the spacings for FF but that’s gonna be a bit of a hassle :P So, bottom line, use FireFox people!! :D

By the way, happy President’s day!
