Hi Ichigo Kurosaki! You can add a picture by signing up at gravatar.com I think you can’t use symbols because this is a very simple forum. No fancy shmancy stuff for now. Sorry! |
k ty! you say no fancy stuff for now? so when are you gonna make it fancy? =P |
Hey you got your picture up! :) Not sure about making it fancy. hehe! But, I can see if we can add a few more fonts like your Japanese font. |
the japanese symbols for Kon (a Bleach charater) is コン |

Hey hey! :D I’m a naruto fan yo! :D But I do like Bleach too. I think the characters and the bankais are super cool. But I think the story is not as deep and well thought compared to Naruto :D Hey, it’s just my opinion yo! hee hee. Bleach uses some very interesting Japanese characters some that I can’t even read.. and I’m native! :D The kanji for the Bankai’s Ban was pretty awesome in my opinion… never imagined that you pronounce that “ban”. Ok Ok, enough with the nerdy talk. :P |
the reason i stopped watching Naruto is cuz fist fighting is really boring. after i ran out of episodes on naruto (i watch it on youtube), i was curious what Bleach was. it turns out the Bleach has way better fighting. after i ran out of episodes on Bleach, i started to watch naruto. i watched like one episode it i could stand the fighting there so i’m like screw this, Bleach is way better. and also Bleach characters look way kooler. i think you could read some of the Japanese characters cuz they just make up their own cuz even the translators cant translate them. i’m actually russian, but the japanese language is pretty kool. i can count to at least twenty in japanese, but i’m not sure what the numbers above twenty are. |
Ah~ yes, I gotta admit Bleach has much more eye candies! Cool swords, cool fightings, hot chics! :D I think Naruto is much more about the story, but I did get really excited with some of the fight scenes like the Sannin showdown and when Shikamaru’s team was chasing Sasuke.. :D Did you know that Naruto won the Quill Award for Best Graphic Novel, a first for any manga? Quite an accomplishment for a Japanese book not to mention that it’s a manga. Ok OK, I like Naruto and I can’t hide :D Oh so they do make up some characters huh? It’s pretty impressive that you can count in japanese and If you can count to 20, it’s easy. 20 is “ni jyu” so just keep adding “ni jyu ichi, ni jyu ni” to say 21 and 22 :) How do you count in Russian? |
Bleach is my #1 favorite anime. Naruto is my 2nd. i’m just waithing for episodes now. right now i watch movies that i wanted to watch like Troy and King Arthur. i just finished watching King Arthur. it has a sad ending where 2 of the knights die. =;;( but it was a pretty good movie. =) now i’m gonna find and watch other ‘war’ movies. so are the 30s “san jyu” then “san jyu ichi, san jyu ni, san jyu san…”? and the others “shi jyu,...go jyu,...roku jyu,...shichi jyu,...hachi jyu,...kyuu jyu”? am i saying the “shi, go,...” right? then what’s 100? 101? 110? 120? o.O in Russian, they use some other symbols that you cant spell with english letters, but i can get it to sound like it. this isn’t how you spell it, i’m just sounding it out: oddeen [1], dva [2], tree [3] (the ‘r’ is said differently, it’s not smooth like the english ‘r’), chetteeree [4], pyat [5] (p-ya-t), shest [6] (‘sh’ is the closest sound i can get to), sem [7], devet [8] (dev-et), desit [10]. |

hee hee, I’m glad Naruto is still your #2 :D I’m totally cool with dat! I watched Troy but not King Arthur.. I still like Gladiator among those historical epic movies. I love when Russel Crow goes “Are you not entertained??!!” So YES! you got the 30s right! 40s is a bit tricky, some people count 4 as “shi” but you can also say it “yon.” so ichi ni san yon go roku nana (instead of shichi) hachi kyu jyu. :) So it’s gonna be “yon jyu ichi” “yon jyuu ni” and stuff :) Wow, but you are so smart to get it so easily! 100 is “hyaku” and 101 is “hyaku ichi” pretty simple ei?? Wow, the Russian numbers look haaaaard. I gotta listen to it for real, maybe Itunes will have it :P I really like the sound of Russian language though, I think it’s prettier than French for sure. But I think english counts it weird. LIke “eleven” where did that come from?? And “twelve”.. why not call it “two-teen” “three-teen” and then go to “four-teen”? OK, that was my rambling of the day :D |
i saw the beginning of Gladiator. i’m probably gonna finish it sometime later. i watch movies at watch-movies.net. i use to stream it, now i just download the movie (using RealPlayer) cuz the movie runs better without lags or having to stop and wait til it streams it. i’m gonna watch all the war movie that look interesting in watch-movies. next in line is The Last Legion then Battle of Wits (if its english or english dubbed) then…the next movie there is. so then it’s hyaku jyu ichi,...hyaku ni jyu ichi? let me guess 200: ni hyaku? then san hyaku,... yon hyaku,... go hyaku,... roku hyaku,... nana hyaku,... hachi hyaku,... kyu hyaku,... then wats 1000? =) ya Russian language is pretty hard. i could speak pretty good, but reading and writing is very challenging. |
oh wow, I never thought of eleven, and twelve as weird. But, I see your point. Those two numbers are completely different from the rest of the “teens”. The way I always looked at it, is that is where the numbers stop on clocks, (12) so then we continue the numbers with teens after that. hehe. Just something I made up with I was little and learning to count. :) I think Russian language is very beautiful too! I have never taken the time to learn a language other than english. I learned a little spanish from partying in Mexico when I lived in San Diego tho! LOL |

Wow, had to go back couple of pages to find this topic! LOL There were lots of activities on this forum this weekend! :) So, you got the hyaku thing almost right! 300 san hyaku is actually san byaku, because I think people thought san hyaku is hard to say :D Other exception is instead of 600 roku kyaku, it’s roppyaku, and instead of 800 hachi hyaku, it’s happyaku. I guess every language has their exceptions :P And 1000 is “sen” so 1379 is “sen san byaku nana jyu kyu.” hee hee I’m such a great teacher aren’t I??? Heathaaa! your analysis is very very interesting, that it’s somehow related to a clock! I actually think English is more influenced by clock than Japanese, because they perceive things in term of “quarter” much more than Japanese. I remember I had lots of trouble with quarter coins when I came over here in the beginning! We only have 5, 10, 50, 100, 500 coins in japan :) BTW partying in San Diego sounds fun :D |
learning new numbers as i go, just learning new numbers. that’s ok. i think those exceptions for 300, 600, and 800 make much easier to say. i know the numbers and the how they are said and written by memory now. all i need to work on is saying it =D. it’s pretty fun saying it too. i enjoy it =). and yep, you are a great teacher. thanks! =D |
oh, btw, is ‘hyaku’ said ‘ha-ku’ or ‘ya-ku’? sorry for asking so much questions. i just want to get use to saying it the right way… =) |
It’s a great honor to have a talented student like you! :D So hyaku sounds like “hi ya ku” but say “hi ya” really really fast =) I don’t think there’s anything in English that is similar to that sound.. same thing for byaku, it’s “bi ya ku” (again saying “bi ya” super super fast). Happyaku is “ha ppi ya ku” (again “pi ya” super duper fast) Do you remember “byakugan” in Naruto? That’s Neji’s super move. They pronounce it “bi ya ugan” so it might help to see an episode of that :) I’m impressed thou, because I only know how to count in English, Japanese and only 1-10 in Spanish and Cantonese :P |
Sachiko, Plus, partying in San Diego is soooo fun!!! :D |
oh ok. and for ‘roppyaku’ it’s ‘ro-ppi-ya-ku’ (saying ‘pi-ya’ really really fast as you described)? in Naruto, i think Neji said the ‘k’ in ‘byakugan’. i only watch dubbed episodes, so i get to hear how they say it. i can tell you where ‘7 days in a week’ came from and why there are 12 months in a year. i can tell you why there’s 24 hours in a day. i can tell you why the Jewish calender has 13 months, not 12. i can even tell you why there’s 100 years in a century! i can even tell you what AD and BC stands for and why BCE is a fraud. i can also tell you why we got dollar bills too. and i can tell you why you dont like math so much. i can tell you guys…if you’re interested. i’m just gonna tell you right n…... |
LMAO!! I always thought it was: But, I have no idea where I got that info from! LOL! Must have been Sunday school. But that still doesn’t mean it correct either. :S dolla dolla bills yall! Interesting fact: I was born on George Washington’s bday. :P |
OH~ I forgot about Byakuya! Yeah I should have used that example. So “san byaku” (san bi yaku)’s “bya” sounds like Byakuya’s “bya” :) Yeah quarters were one of the most difficult thing for me in the beginning and I still have trouble with inches and feet =) Cause we use centimeters so I have no idea how to use the American measure. So I can’t tell you how tall I am in feet. I am 161cm though! :D AD: After death LOL I think that’s what it means, I think you say it like ante domino? too lazy to wiki it :D I have no idea what BCE stands for.. I feel like I’m in the show “are we smarter than the 5th grade” because I’m totally not! |
sorry for the pause, the back row was a bit noise. lmfao. ok, i’ll get you guys smarter. why are there 7 days in a week? there are 7 days in a week cuz God worked (on the earth) for 6 days and rested on the 7th. why are there 12 months in a year? we got 12 months in a year cuz our calendar is based on the sun. why are there 24 hours in a day? there are 24 hours in a day cuz that’s how long it takes the it takes the earth to revolve, duh. why does the Jewish calendar have 13 months, not 12? the Jewish calendar is based on the moon, not the sun. why is there 100 years in a century? there’s 100 years in a century cuz people got tired of counting from ‘1’ so created a century so they can start from ‘100’, rotflmfao! cent means 100, so that’s another thing. What does AD and BC stand for and why is BCE a fraud? AD stands for After Death (of our Lord Jesus Chirst) and BC stands for Before Christ and BCE stands for Before the Common Era. BCE is an Evolution thing (the every lamest theory on earth, but still many believe in this religion) and Evolution is a fraud (it’s been proven wrong several times), so BCE is a fraud too. why do we have dollar bills? we got dollar bills cuz coins are too heavy. and you wont get robbed after you house burns down cuz your money burns with it, lmao. why do you hate math so much? you hate math cuz those salaries are so damn hard to count, you just give up on it and say “damn i hate math!!!” rotflmfao! x;D get a crowd around your computer screen and learn some kool facts. lmao! |

and our dollar is not worth it’s weight in gold anymore. damn government. |

Heathaaa. You should get the Original Cast Recording of “Big River”, based on Huckleberry Finn. There is a song in there you probably would identify with, or, at least, agree with – Dad Gum Guv’ment, See if you can find it on Limewire. There are 2 versions, the Original Cast Recording of that song, and the version by the Tony winning score writer, Roger Miller, of country music fame. In fact, Miller stepped in and played the role of Huck’s Pap when (I believe the original cast member was} John Goodman was sick or something. |
haha! That’s great! I’ll have to look that up! :) |
Oooooh, the dad gum gum’ment, them dirty sons of bi**hes, they got their filthy hands in every pocket of my britches, is just one of the lines to that very funny (but a little too true) song. |
