Q: How do I get a layout on my page? How do I use your site?

Q: Is my MySpace email and password safe with you?
A: Yes, it is 100% safe as your MySpace password is NOT stored anywhere on the servers. Entering your password info gives us permission to put your layout on your profile ONLY. No one has access to your information. Not even the CoolChaser webmasters/programmers. Even if hackers get access to the database, they have no ability to retrieve/decrypt any passwords. Please read this blog entry for more details and feel free to contact us if you have further inquiries.

You can also hopefully tell from hundreds of thousands of happy users that CoolChaser is not a phishing site! Check out the testimonial pages and users’ profiles.

Q: What happens if I change my MySpace password?
A: You can simply create a new layout and CoolChaser is smart enough to link to your account :) If you just wanted to see your layout history, you can log in using your old password, and once you create a new layout, your info is updated with your new password.

Q: My background image is too big! It doesn’t fit on my screen
A: The Layout Editor automatically resizes the background images to 1024px wide to fit the most popular computer screen. Sometimes if your image is longer vertically it will cut off the top and bottom. Also, if you have a wide screen then you will see the background color like stripes on either side of the background image.

Q: My page is too wide/ not centered like in the preview! Why do I have a scroll bar on the bottom of my page?
A: There are a couple of things that could be making your profile too wide and scroll from left to right…
FIRST: Large images and quizzes on your profile. You can try putting quizzes in your blogs and bulletins instead and put smaller pictures on your page. Also try to keep slide shows and videos in your “About Me” or “Who I’d Like To Meet” sections since they are already wide enough for them.
SECOND: When people leave big images in your comments. You can try two things to fix the comments:
1. Put this code at the bottom of ‘Who I’d Like To Meet’ to center comments:

2. Put this code in your ‘About Me’ section to resize the images in comments:

Q; My page takes forever to load or doesn’t load completely!

Q: It didn’t work! I still see my old layout! What do I do?
A:
• Make sure you delete all old layout codes from your profile.

• Did you use the myspace profile editor? You need to go back to the myspace profile editor and click “clear all”. OR

• Maybe the auto insert just didn’t work and you need to manually copy and paste the code into your ‘About Me’ section. (the code is in your ‘My Layouts’ tab HERE)

• You are using the Theme Editor not the Layout Editor. The Layout Editor is where you choose a theme and background image and put it in your profile. The Theme Editor is where you customize the text, colors, etc.

After you save a theme:
1. Open the Layout Editor
2. Go to 1. Select Theme: Click the “My Themes” tab to choose a theme you customized. (or you can choose any of the other themes created by other people)
3. Go to 2. Select Background Image: Choose a background image (this is optional, you don’t have to use a background image)
4. Go to 3. More Tweaks and Options: For more tweaks. (this is also optional)
5. Go to 4. Add This Layout to My Profile: Enter your myspace email and password and it will automatically go on your profile.

Q: But I don’t see any buttons in the myspace profile editor! What do I do now?
A: Make sure you are using Internet Explorer. (You can’t see the buttons in Firefox or any other web browser.) If you are, and still don’t see the buttons, then you will need to contact MySpace and report the error:
myspace.com/myspacehelp

Q: I put your layout on my page but now my profile is messed up. Things are missing, cut off, the background won’t show, jumbled text…etc…etc.
A: • If you have a code to hide blogs or other tweak codes on your profile, they may be old codes that don’t work right anymore. Delete these codes and Click Here for MySpace tweak codes that will work! If you don’t find the code you were looking for, just ask! :)

• Make sure you delete all old layout codes AND/OR make sure you hit “clear all” in the MySpace Profile Editor.

• You might have “bad codes” on your profile causing things to disappear or look funny. My advice is:
1. Take any slide shows, videos, images, etc. Off your page and save changes. (paste the codes in notepad to get them back easy)
2. Put them back in your profile one at a time. ~ Save changes after each one and check your profile to make sure it’s looking ok before putting the next one in.
—> Also, If you added any <div> tags (to make scrolling boxes or whatever it is you used it for): Make sure you close the tag like this </div> or it will make your profile really messed up!

• MySpace makes changes to their codes every once in a while without warning. The CoolChaser codes will change as a result to make sure the layouts stay looking good. So, you should also try reinserting your layout to get the up to date codes. Your layout history is in the ‘My Layouts’ link at the top right of the page. Q: How do I delete the layout?
A: If you get bored with your layout or just don’t like the way it looks you can just make a new one and the code will automatically be updated for you! You can also tweak the one you already made Click Here for an easy tutorial! :)
