well,... my dad talked to me about Bleach. he said it’s very not Christian and we talked about all this other negative stuff about Bleach (there’s no positive from a Christian point of view). i actually dont know if i can or cannot make Bleach themes. i cant put them up on myspace, that’s for sure (cuz it show what kind of person i am). i think i’m just over reacting. i’m just gonna ask my dad about it. i’ve got nothing else to make themes about anyways.

I think Bleach has a very simple message, is about Ichigo, an once ordinary high school boy, suddenly getting a power to fight evil spirits and protect who he loves and the community, and never giving up no matter what it takes :) but that’s about it, Bleach doesn’t really have a deep message or anything like Naruto :D So I think your dad could be concerned more about the violent scenes and the evil people on Bleach. And maybe because you seem to relate more to the evil people on Bleach he is concerned. Maybe you can start making more Orihime themes??

But I think it’s just phase, there are times in life that you get attracted to the dark side especially adolescent time, I went through that too :D, and it’s very very normal! Sorry if I sound like an old lady, I hope you cheer up soon :)

no, it’s not just the bad people, it’s the good ones too. Japanese anime are tied with spirits. they have very unreal powers, such could only come from the devil. the idea of all the spiritual energy, swords with special powers, and their ability to do things with spirits and spiritual energy comes from Satan. other ideas such as aliens, unreal moves and techniques, and other fantasy or unrealistic ideas comes from Satan. computer games, TV, and video games are some things that Satan gave the idea to people so they can make them and many people waste their time on ‘idols’. it takes your time away from doing what God wants. hope you get the point.
now back to Bleach. pretty much it’s bad cuz of the violence, it’s tied with spirits, and the fantasy characters have unreal power. my dad told me to show him a random episode and it turned out episode 56. Genryuusai Yamamoto uses spiritual energy which show like fire. you can clearly see that God would never give anybody such power, only Satan would. pretty much all of Bleach is prohibited. i’m not sure if i can still make Bleach themes though. i hope you get what i’m trying to say.

ummm I don’t understand where you are getting that Satan is giving people fire power and unreal powers. It’s just a cartoon. It’s made up by imagination. It’s just fun to pretend you are magic sometimes. You just need to understand that it’s not real and no real person can do special powers like have super energy and a magical sword. Here’s another good example: Dora The Explorer. Now that show is a children’s educational show. This little girl goes on adventures and has a magic map that tells her where to go. She goes through woods and mountains and lakes and rivers all without the supervision of her parents. That would be silly if no one allowed their children to watch that show! Just because it’s a fun cartoon that sings songs and teaches kids how to talk and count, etc. The rest is all building a healthy imagination to pretend to go on an adventure.

The same with all other video games and tv shows and movies. The big point is the stories are fiction. The characters are made up. It’s not real life unless it is specified that the film is about a real life event. I can understand protecting your children against graphic content and violence. That is why all of these things have different ratings for the different age groups. A young child sometimes cannot separate imagination from reality and needs to grow older and learn more what real life is before they can be ready to see things that may look real, but aren’t real. There is also the concern for parents if the only thing their child is obsessed about is a violent game or show. There is a saying “garbage in, garbage out”. If you only involve yourself in violence even if it’s only in video games and movies, you will not learn how to really treat people with love and compassion. There needs to be a balance in there and save the video games and movies for a little fun instead of your only means of entertainment.

Now there ARE shows out there that are about different religions and spiritual beliefs in the world. And if you find it offensive it’s very easy to just not watch them.

And of course if your father forbids you to do something, you should obey him. If he doesn’t like you watching Bleach, then you should do what he says.

You know, when rock and roll first came out, preachers called it the devil’s music and burned records of it. At least one Baptist church condemns the United States, and says that our brave men and women who are fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq, who pay the ultimate sacrifice for others, is the way God is punishing the US. They go so far as attempting to disrupt the funerals for these warriors. My understanding of God and religion is totally different. I believe the Bible’s version. “Greater love hath no man, than he lay down his life for a friend.” Extremism is not only in branches of the Muslim faith. Unfortunately, all religions have zealots. Keep that in mind, study the Bible, and it doesn’t hurt to find out about other religions and their views. Life is for learning, and the more you learn, the more you learn that you need to learn more.
