Yuwie Help

Heathaaa, could you post the code for hiding the comments in Yuwie? As well as posting where to place it. We discussed it, but it never made it to the Forum. You rewrote my Veteran’s script, and I grabbed that from you. Sure would appreciate it.

For any Yuwie “tweak” codes to work on your profile, you have to have a layout.
Here is how to set it up:

FIRST HOW TO GET A YUWIE LAYOUT! Click Here to get the instructions to convert your Coolchaser Layout to Yuwie. Click Here to see MY layouts already converted to Yuwie. Copy and paste layout code to notepad and save on your computer to get to it easy.

1. From your Yuwie Control Panel:
Edit Profile > Layout > Create a New Template > Advanced Template
2. Name your template. If you choose to share it, you need to enter at least one tag word and one category.
3. Paste your layout code in the big box.
4. Click “Preview” at the bottom.
5. Click “Save this Template”
6. Click “Use” next to the template you just created.

SECOND HOW TO USE YUWIE TWEAK CODES:

1. From Yuwie Control Panel:
Edit Profile > Layout
2. Click “Edit” next to the template you are using.
3. Paste the code at the VERY END, after all of the layout codes in the big box.
4. Click “Preview”
5. Click “Save This Template”
6. Click “Use” next to the template you just saved.

Replace the number in BOLD to your Yuwie ID. (It’s right next to your picture in your Control Panel)

Actually, Heathaaa, this particular question was for one of my Yuwie referrals. I guess I’ll wait for the rest of my “transfers” of layouts from MySpace to Yuwie. There’s quite a few I plan having available for Yuwie. I’m pretty sure Ralph is going to start coming to Coolchaser and start making his own layouts. Also, I just introduced Lini (from the Lost John Family Club) to it and she started to play around with it right away, so I also let her know about the forum.. TTYL

That’s cool Lost John! I edited my post about the “Yuwie Tweak Codes” to make it more clear how to use it. Hopefully that will help your referrals out a little!

Put your referral banner at the top of your page and then submit your profile URL to digg.com, reddit.com, del.icio.us, and furl.net.

Put your profile URL EVERYWHERE. The more links to it, the better. Search for blogs on the internet about making money online or work from home and send it a comment. For the My Website part of the comment form put in your Profile URL or your referral URL, which ever works better for you. Don’t put a referral URL in the actual comment itself. Bloggers hate it when people use their comments like that.

I found this after my post in the other Yuwie section. I installed the code to hide the comments and it works like a charm.

I’m glad you did forget. Now I know where to look for it. I am going to fix up some other layouts for Yuwie, now. I’ll read through the posts again to see if I can find how to do the banner layouts, then copy it into a txt file, like I have done with the instructions for the regular layouts.

with the banner layouts, you need to delete all the banner code from the coolchaser code and just put the normal html image code in either before or after all the coolchaser code and it will show up at the top of the profile. I’ll email you another text file with each one color coded so you know what to look for. :)

Thanks, I appreciate that. Wanted to say that now. After tomorrow (starting Tuesday) don’t know how I’ll be feeling, yet. Kinda scary going through this stuff, but not nearly as scary as not going through it. Besides, I’m too damned ornery to die before I spend more time with my grandsons and the rest of my whole fam damily! Got another 25 years or so to go, donchasee! ;)

While trying to replace blacktext12 with topimg, the replace box does not find any blacktext12

now that is just weird. I would say make sure you spell it right…but you spelled it right in your post!! LOL

Try making sure the cursor is at the top of the document before you search. Maybe that is the problem. I really have no idea why that would happen.

As is usual, I am having problems with some of the Layouts I want to transfer over to Yuwie. That’s just a part of the problems. That’s why I have been waiting for the Yuwie Layout creator to be finished.

There is another way to hide the comments. Click on Edit Profile, then click the layout tab, Click Contents. There you can hide just about any of your sections, or change their locations etc.

Heathaaa, Is there a way to set the size of the left and right panel on Yuwie to be the same as on a MySpace layout. I have noticed the panels are wider on Yuwie layouts.

Yes, at least I noticed the left side is wider. I think that is because the friend space has 5 friends per row instead of the myspace 4 friends per row. I have played around with resizing the left side of Yuwie profiles to match the corresponding right side of Myspace profiles…but it’s very tricky. I had to resize all the friend space pix and a few other tricks for it to work in both IE and FF. I don’t have a specific code that will work for all layouts yet. It is different for each layout I use…I really don’t know why because the base code is pretty much the same. I must be changing something that affects it…not sure!!! :S

If I find something that will work for all layouts made I will def post it for ya in here! :)

The right side is wider on the ones I have just made. It stretches them so when I use the parchment background, there is space left over on both sides, and the actual links for the contact table are stretched so the left side “links” are to the left of the actual links, while the right side links line up with the actual links.

Heathaaa, I know you answered the question I had in the last post somewhere, but I can’t find it. It reduces widgets like the slide show and sets a limit on the right hand column on Yuwie. Could you repost that here, please?

Oh yeah! Here’s the code:

Thanks, it works great on everything except my music player. Gonna go to the LoudFusion site and see if they have a player that will fit the 200×175 criteria. If not, oh, well, it still has the play and stop buttons visible.

Yeah I see what you mean the LoudFusion media doesn’t change with the embed resize. :( That sux.

Also, your right side is still stretched because the Yuwie Radio thing is in a div with a width of 355px. You will need to change that number to 200px to match the rest of the column. It’s right after your LoudFustion code.
