The auto insert doesn’t update my blogs anymore. I tried several times and the old coolchaser code was still there. So, I clicked restore to default blog, and the auto insert still didn’t update it. :(

Heathaaa! I just tried it and it worked for me. But I have had that problem before so told Chao and then he said “it works for me?” (which is something he always say :)) and then I tried couple of hours later and started working.. Weird huh? Can you try a different profile or something?

Oh, by the way I pressed the “use” button on my user homepage.

I tried it on all of my test profiles and none of them worked. I tried the use button on my homepage AND creating a new one from scratch. I have no clue. I think I might just copy and paste from one of my other blogs.

Weird! I just tried on my other profile too and it worked! I bet MySpace had a problem when you tried :D The site was extremely slow today somehow too, either too much traffic or MySpace was slow..

Yeah, I think it is MySpace too. Bulletins were down for a long time. Usually when they are working on something LOTS of random things start glitching.

I just created my own theme and tried to save it. The next screen loaded just a blank white screen. Now whenever I try to load up ,my account it just loads a blank white screen. And when I click on my themes on the editor it just loads and loads and loads.

Ok, so right now I can update my blog ONCE a day only. After that no new layouts will update my blog. I still think it’s a myspace gitch because I have other problems with my blogs too (some of the posts won’t let me update them, I have to delete the whole post and write a new one with the updated info). I guess I need to just take my time testing what layout is cool for my blog! LoL I’m not a very patient person when it comes to lookin GOOD! haha

What google search are you using? In the layout editor? Is it a specific image you are trying to use for the background? The particular image you clicked on may be forbidden. I just used the layout editor twice and just clicked on any random image in the google search and they all showed up in the preview.

Hi Bunny, I think you were using the Google Search on the top right corner of our site to search for layouts right? Yes, that was disallowed for a while but it should be working now :) Here’s the results

Although, this search is just to see what other people have made and you don’t have to copy other people’s layout! You can create your own by going directly to our layout editor and search directly from there. Hope this helps!

OK I took the leap and set up a profile or two and then nothing…. I don’t get it… is there a problem with firefox? Should try MSN? Can someone help me out…. The message says that there is an error or glitch… etc… aja (Tim)

I am consistently having a problem with edit, especially on my themes. I make the changes, hit save, fill out the info, it says it is saved, but when I bring it up, even days later, no change has been made, even after I refresh or reload the screen. Occasionally have the same problem with the Layout Editor.

The other problem I have is when the Fantasy font is used either by me or someone else, my computer uses a font of christmas trees with the letters inside them. At one time, fantasy worked for me. I don’t know what happened.

I think I figured out the problem! Long time ago, our server crashed because we had so many traffics (growing pain!) so we decided to cache pages. That means, instead of loading a brand new page every time, we decided to keep a copy of the pages from couple of days ago, and serve that so it will be less burden on the server (correct me if I’m wrong here Chao!)

The user page is not cached so it is refreshed to the new version consistently, but I think when you actually try to use the theme on the layout editor, it shows you the old cached page. However, I just tested it and saw that when I actually inserted the layout, the layout is actually updated on the MySpace Profile. Mmmmm.. this is hard to explain :( Anyway, I’m asking Chao if there’s anything we can do about this.

Also, about the Fantasy font… this is actually a very unique font that says “hey, grab any decorative font that is installed on the user’s computer!” Unlike Arial which is installed on 100% of the computers, some computer may have “Apple Chancery” (like my mac) and some other people might have some other type of decorative font, so it depends on the font the user has on his/her computer. This font is actually not recommended if you want the font to look consistent on every computer. But it’s surely fun to see your decorative font showing up when you do have it on your computer!

Is there a way to choose the font for the replacement for the Fantasy type font. Although, what puzzles me is it did work for me in August. I don’t know what happened to the one my computer had been using for the fantasy font, but I have several in that category, and would rather have just about any other one than the christmas tree font it now uses.

Yeah Fantasy font is tricky, I think it just uses the first decorative font installed on your computer. There is a hack to show the font that you would like it to appear :)

Let’s say I want to specifically use Brush Script MT. Put this code after your layout code:

Of course, you can change Brush Script MT to whatever font you want to use, and for those who don’t have that font installed, it will show a different type of decorative font on their computer. Basically, fantasy acts as a “catch all”

Now to figure out which one to use. Got a bunch on my computer. hehe Update: I tried them both with Black Chancery. Will report back how it works.
