my friend just updated his profile and he has some nice features on it. he had different pics for the name box, friends list box, comment box, and in the ‘About Me’ and ‘Who’d I like to meet’ box. you guys should make a feature so you can put different pics for those boxes. =) |
can you post the link to it? I wanna see! :) |
ok. i think his profile is on private though. tell me if it is. |
yep it’s private. And he has it set where you have to know his last name or email to request a friend. :( |
ok. i’ll tell him to add you. |
i just notice that on Internet Explorer, my friend’s comment box and friends list is tilted. you guys should make the editor so i can tilt those boxes too. and make an option so you can choose how much you want to tilt it. that would look soooo unique. =) |
Kon, I think the original idea of Coolchaser was to keep it simple enough for everyone to use. However, I DO like the idea of being able to tilt the boxes. I’d vote for it. |
tilted?? what’s that? can you put a screen shot? |
atm, my bro’s hogging the good comuter, and my internet explorer does open myspace. anyways, how do you take screen shots on the computer, not with camera? on FireFox, the boxes aren’t tilted. it’s only on Internet Explorer. you guys should make it work on both since the other sites are too naive to do it. =) |
to take a screen shot you have the webpage you want a shot of and hold down the alt key and prt screen keys at the same time. Then open any image editing software like Microsoft Paint, or Paint Shop Pro, etc. Open a new document and go to edit and paste. The screen shot you took will then be pasted in. You can save to your computer and upload to photobucket and post the link here. I don’t think the boxes are supposed to be tilting at all. It sounds like a glitch. That’s why I want to see a screen shot. Thanks! :) |
it better not be a glitch, cuz making your theme tilted looks cool… unless you tilt it the wrong way lol. |
so are you guys gonna do the different pic in boxes idea? and the tilting? |
I can’t figure out what it is that’s making his boxes tilt in IE. That is so weird! i hope it’s not just all the different codes he has on his profile conflicting and causing that to happen. Do you know if it was that way on purpose? It seems weird to make a layout that will only do cool things in one browser though. You would think the site he got it from would make it work in all browsers. I dunno…I’m just going to steal his layout and play with the codes a little and see how it changes my own profile. As far as making it possible to put different pix in different boxes…I think Sachiko is going to add an advanced tab in the theme editor when she comes back from vacation for stuff like that. But, you will need to know myspace CSS to be able to do it. |

Ok so I figured it out… The images in the different boxes he did using the Myspace Profile Editor. The tilted boxes are also done using the Myspace Profile Editor. It’s done using a filter that is only compatible with internet explorer. I haven’t found any codes on the internet anywhere to do this same effect in firefox or any other browser besides IE. So until FF and other popular browsers (like Safari) come up with neat filters like that…only IE will display them. There are TONS of filters that do cool things in IE. Here is a link if you are interested: |
somebody should tell those internet browsers to come up with these filters. so MySpace Profile Editor can do all those kool things? CoolChaser is a great profile editor and we got to make it the best ever. ;) |
yeah except the Myspace Profile Editor doesn’t work half the time. I get TONS of emails everyday with problems with their editor! It sucks! and it only works if you are using Internet Explorer. I wonder if other myspace sites get this much email about that stuff… I agree that Coolchaser is a great editor. :) Chao and Sachiko work really hard to answer all of our requests for the editor. They’ve made some really cool additions so far! I’m looking forward to more cool stuff too! :D |
ya i guess if you want things to work properly, then the internet browsers should come up with filters and make every browser equal. otherwise you get more problems. D= |

I KNOW!! I wish there was some sort of standard that all developers for the different browsers had to abide by! But noooooo…they like to be all different. That’s how they market their product. They try to make theirs cooler so more people will use it. So far Microsoft has had the most users by far. I’m not a big fan of IE because it’s slow and I get pop ups even when I use my pop up blocker! So annoying! I usually stick to FF since I feel more secure using it and it’s waaaaay faster than IE. Myspace profiles load so much better on my FF. But, since I like to make layouts that will work for everyone I try to pay attention to how IE and Safari display things too. It sucks because it’s limited to the neat stuff I can do since I want the layout to look the same for each browser. Most people only worry about the browser they use on their computer though, so it’s not a big deal for them. I’m just reeeeally picky! :P I wish the other browsers would at least make cool filters compatible! Even if we have to add extra code…that would be fine by me! That is how we get the partial see-through layouts to work in all browsers. We have to do like 4 different codes to make it the same for each browser. I remember a while back I could only do transparency in IE so I never did it. I got all excited when I found the codes to make it work for other browsers! =D I’m such a nerd I know! |
uuuuuuhhh…...... yep. it’s kinda stupid that they dont have standard…...... dont have anything else to talk about lol. |
But Kon, then we wouldn’t have another thing to gripe about, and they wouldn’t have anything that they think makes their browser than another. Go figure. |
they could at least make a few changes like making FF faster than IE and their skin style and color, but they should still have the good filter standards. |
YES I wish we could do those effects in all browsers!!! |
YES I wish we could put up some world bulletin stating the standard for browsers!!! |

U can learn basic CSS here: I’m going to create a new help post with specific class names for myspace to help people out a little. But the general idea is it’s “advanced” so if you can’t figure it out…don’t use it. :) More detailed help will be in the forum soon though for people that want to learn. |
i want to be “advanced”. i’m gonna learn the CSS when i got some free time. |
